Metro-Nashville fire captain charged with arson

A Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and Tennessee Fire Investigation Service investigation resulted in the indictment of a captain with the Metro-Nashville Fire Department, on arson and insurance fraud charges.

On Sept. 7, TBI began an investigation into the Sept. 5 fire that happened at a home at 1055 White Bluff Road in White Bluff.

Investigators determined Jeffrey Todd Neely, 48, of White Bluff, intentionally set fire to his own home. Neely is a captain with the Metro-Nashville Fire Department.

A Dickson County grand jury returned an indictment Oct. 18 for arson and insurance fraud. Neely was arrested Tuesday and booked in at the Dickson County Jail on $50,000 bond.
