MARYVILLE — Wilson Central won the Heritage Dual Tournament last weekend by going 5-0, capped by a 38-32 win over No. 2 Beech, which beat the Wildcats earlier this season.

"It was nice to avenge a loss from Beech from earlier in the season," said coach John Kramer, whose Wildcats climbed to 31-5 (with only losses to Beech and Father Ryan coming to Tennessee teams). "The team has been improving every day."

Central's Zach Linton defeated the state's top-ranked 170-pounder 14-6.

The Wildcats rode through the tournament with a 75-12 trouncing of Jefferson County, a 69-12 whipping of Wayne County, a 75-3 thumping of Anderson County and a 59-21 triumph over Tennessee.

CLARKSVILLE — Central's junior varsity traveled to Rossview on Monday for the JV region championships.

Antonio Jones, T.H. Oakley, Kyle Reynolds, Jarrel Actkins and Jeffrey Walpole won championships for the Wildcats while Dave Moredo, Michael Mercante and Chase Coslow finished second and Mina Hagib third.
