Friendship punches ticket to sub-state

POSSUMTOWN – Friendship Christian sent Evangelical Christian School back to Memphis on Wednesday with a 3-0 loss in a play-in sectional match that advanced the Lady Commanders to sub-state. 

Friendship defeated the Lady Eagles 25-17, 25-14, 25-16 Wednesday and will face Knoxville-Webb in the first round of sub-state Saturday at 10 a.m. in Knoxville. 

Cameron Burton led the Lady Commanders with 31 assists and two aces. Bayley West finished with 11 kills, eight digs and two blocks. Syd McCormick had 10 kills and three blocks in the match. Bailey Bryant finished with 11 digs, and Logan Seagraves scored eight kills in the win.
