Wilson Central sweeps Stewarts Creek

GLADEVILLE — Wilson Central swept visiting Stewarts Creek 25-23, 25-22, 25-12 Tuesday night.

Emilee McDonald led the Lady Wildcats with 16 assists, eight digs, three aces and two blocks while Nicole Brill added eight kills, four blocks, three aces and a dig; Kathryn Bean six blocks, five kills and a dig; Sydney McClure three kills, a dig and a block; Hailey Hunter two digs, two aces and an assist; Faith Moorhead seven digs and four kills, Grayce Guethlein six digs and two aces, Hannah Potts four kills and a dig and Hope Davidson two aces and a dig as Central raised its record to 9-6.

Central also won the junior-varsity match 25-17, 25-16.

Cookeville will visit Wilson Central on Thursday. Freshmen will serve off at 4 p.m., JV at 5 and varsity at 6.

MJCA outlasts Nashville Christian 3-2

MT. JULIET — Mt. Juliet Christian emerged with a tight 25-19, 25-17, 13-25, 25-27, 15-13 win over Nashville Christian on Tuesday.

Sophomore Megan Blackwell led the Lady Saints with 13 digs and eight kills while senior Mary Laxton supplied seven blocks and five kills and eighth-grader Davey Slaughter seven digs and five kills.

Nashville Christian won the junior-varsity match 25-11, 20-25, 15-7 despite nine digs from Lady Saint sophomore Olivia McMurtry, seven kills from Slaughter and four kills from sophomore Anna Wise.
