Music City Star to stage mock disaster drill Thursday

Staff Reports • Sep 19, 2017 at 5:18 PM

The Music City Star will participate in a mock disaster drill Thursday to refresh safety training and increase the preparedness in the event of a real train emergency.

Transit Solutions Group and the Nashville Eastern Railroad will coordinate the training, which is scheduled to take place near the Lebanon train station.

Multiple state and local law enforcement, emergency response crews, health care providers and operations management teams will participate in the drill.

This exercise will test various emergency support functions and challenge the Music City Star and first responders with the task of moving a large number of people while working a mass casualty incident.

The drill will be conducted after normal revenue operations, and the passengers on board will be volunteer participants.
