Cumberland University soccer coaches Rory O’Connor and Adam Grant will offer a pair of camps for boys and girls this summer at Lindsey Donnell Stadium-Kirk Field, with both camps taking place June 6-10 for ages 8-12 and 13-18. Camp for ages 4-12 runs from 9-11:30 a.m. daily and ages 13-18 takes place from 5:30-8 p.m. for passing, receiving, dribbling and shooting instruction. CU baseball camps begin June 6
Four different Cumberland University baseball camps will take place throughout the month of June this summer beginning June 6 on the CU campus and running until the end of the month. Cumberland will hold two sessions of hitting Camp, both from June 6-9. The morning session (9 a.m.-noon each day) is for ages 6-9 while the afternoon session (1-4 p.m.) will offer instruction to ages 10-12. Cost is $100 per camper for each session. The second option, an all-day fundamental camp, runs from June 13-16 for ages 8-14. The four-day camp lasts from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day and costs $180 per camper. Lunch will also be provided to each camper. A pitching camp for ages 8-14 from 9 a.m. until noon on June 20-23 costs $100 per camper. The advanced fundamental camp will also takes place June 20-23 from 1-4 p.m. each day for ages 13-18. Cost is $100 per camper. Cumberland basketball will host a pair of summer camps at the Dallas Floyd Recreation Center during the month of June, with a combined volleyball/basketball camp set for June 13-16 and a basketball only camp taking place June 27-30. The combined volleyball and basketball camp for grades K-6 is set for June 13-16 from 9 a.m.-noon each day and costs $80 per camper. Fundamentals of volleyball and basketball will be taught by Cumberland coaches and players through games and structured instruction. Basketball camp for ages 6-13 will be held June 27-30 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. daily and costs $125 per camper before June 1 and $150 after that. Phoenix holding slate of volleyball camps
Cumberland volleyball coach Kathy Slaughter has announced her 2016 camp dates, which includes college prep clinics on June 11 and July 16, individual camp on June 20-21, grades 4-8 on June 11 as well and a combined basketball and volleyball camp set for June 13-16 at the Dallas Floyd Recreation Center. The college prep clinics are for high school players and costs $45 per person. The June 11 event takes place from 9-11 a.m. and July 16 is from 1-3 p.m. The fundamental camp for grades 4-8 is set for 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on June 11 and includes Cumberland coaches and players teaching fundamentals to elementary and middle school players. Cost is $45 per person. The individual camp takes place June 20-21, with middle school and high school ages from 8-11 a.m. each day Choose one day or both, with cost $45 per day or $95 for both days. CU softball camp dates set
Cumberland softball coach Heather Stanfill has announced dates for nine summer camps, including clinic for hitting, pitching and all skills and one specifically for high school players. The hitting clinic for ages 8-11 will take place June 16 from 10 a.m.-noon and a hitting clinic for ages 12-17 is at the same time on June 17. Two all skills clinics are for ages 5-12 and will run from 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. daily. Campers must bring their lunch and concessions will be open each day during lunch as well. All skills clinics for ages 13-17 will take place June 23 and July 13 from 9 a.m.-noon each day. The June 27 pitching clinic is for ages 8-11 and the June 28 pitching clinic has ages 12-17. Both clinics will run from 10 a.m.-noon and you must bring a catcher. The high school workout for rising freshmen to rising seniors will be held July 24 from 2-5 p.m. Cumberland will also offer high school workouts on Aug. 28 and Sept. 25 at the same times. CU football camp date changed to June 23
Cumberland football’s Thursday Night Lights Camp is changing dates due to unforeseen circumstances, with camp now set June 23 at Nokes-Lasater Field. The camp is for rising freshmen to rising seniors and costs $30 if signed up before June 17 and $40 thereafter. Campers will go through drills at their selected positions with Cumberland staffers and current players. The Nokes-Lasater facility includes a game field as well as two 70-yard practice fields, ample space for players and coaches to get plenty of work done during the three-hour period. Campers must bring a helmet, cleats and tennis shoes for the workouts. Helmets may be rented for $15 as well. Check-in for camp will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Nokes-Lasater Field, which is located at 418 Harding Drive in Lebanon. Sign up and pay for the camp at www.CumberlandCamps.com.
