Wilson County Republicans elect new officers

The Wilson County Republican Party elected a new chairman and executive committee members during a biennial reorganization meeting March 18.

Terri Nicholson was elected chairman, John Haley as vice chairman, Mary Stimek as secretary, Kenneth Nelson Jr. as vice secretary, Cindy McCornack as treasurer and Scott McRae as vice treasurer.

The new committee seeks to involve more Republicans as precinct chairs, committee chairs and Wilson County Fair volunteers.

As chairman, Nicholson will serve as the chief executive of the Republican Party of Wilson County. She will be responsible for the administration and management of the affairs of the executive committee, coordinate political activities of the county’s Republican Party, maintain order of meetings and break ties on divided board matters that require a vote. She will also have the right to approve chairs of the special committee.

The new executive committee also seeks to continue the growth of GOP membership in the county through aggressive use of social media.
