The Tennessee Women’s Political Caucus, in affiliation with the National Women’s Political Caucus, endorsed Amelia Hipps for state House of Representatives in District 46 position on the ballot for the Nov. 8 election.

“It is imperative in this political climate that we continue as an organization to support women in the political process and encourage all women to vote,” said Gabriela Salinas, president of the Tennessee Women’s Political Caucus. “Our decision to endorse Amelia Hipps was an important one. As a successful business owner and a journalist, she possesses unique qualifications that all Tennesseans could benefit from in our House of Representatives. It is because of these characteristics and countless others that we feel she will be the best possible choice for District 46.”

TNWPC recruits, trains and elects women to public office, whether elected or appointed, and its membership is comprised of distinguished women who are involved in all aspects of government and business.

“Amelia Hipps will fight to ensure that the laws of our state allow for equal opportunities for women,” said Gabriela Salinas, president of the Tennessee Women’s Political Caucus. “She is a first-time candidate with a platform that priorities the needs of women and families in Tennessee. Her platform is one that supports Insure TN, equal pay and affordable childcare. It is because of her strong platform and impressive background that we are proud to endorse her.”

The Tennessee Women’s Political Caucus is a multi-partisan organization whose purpose is to promote full and equal participation of women in government and the political process and support measures to open economic and political opportunities for women.
