Audience of One Productions is in the midst of its second play of the young theatre troupe’s history with “Beauty and the Beast,” playing Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at the Capitol Theatre in Lebanon.

Audience of One previously produced “Into the Woods,” and plans to show “A Christmas Carol, the Musical” in December.

Audience of One is the brainchild of Angie Dee, who serves as the artistic director for the troop.

“It started with just a vision and a dream of mine,” Dee said. “I walked into Capitol Theatre and had a conversation with Danielle Percy. I was looking at the stage and was overcome with the presence of the Lord. I knew that live theatre needed to be performed on that stage. It needed a Broadway-style show. One thing led to another, and we were producing big, excellent shows. I knew we were doing it through the Lord. It was amazing to see God work through us and see how the cast and crew worked together. It’s not just a theatre company, it’s also a ministry for me.”

“’Beauty and the Beast’ is the perfect example of learning how to see others through the eyes of Christ.”

The play is a Disney show that was made into a movie in 1991 and will be remade in 2017.

The show is a Broadway-style production with talented actors and singers who make up the cast. The cast consists of young people from 7-20 and is popular with the Wilson County theatre crowd. Many young people flocked to the theatre for the chance to meet Belle, Prince Adam/Beast, Gaston and Lafou at a meet-and-greet before the show.

Audience of One is a tuition-based educational theatre program for any actor looking to advance their skills with top-industry instructors while performing in the Capitol Theatre.

Audience of One Productions is now in partnership with Capitol Theatre.

“We have a home in this most amazing venue and look forward to many spectacular productions,” Dee said. “Come be a part of our next venture with ‘Beauty and the Beast’ summer 2016.  It is a tuition-based program with acting, including script analysis, character development, stage presence and purpose. Enjoy the voices of the actors with show-stopping numbers with ensemble and advanced choreography for unforgettable songs. This is a full-production education resulting in a complete experience of a Broadway musical.”

Dee, with the help of music director Gina Pond and choreographer Mallory Mundy, are excited to bring to the stage Audience of One’s 2016 Production of “Beauty and the Beast” and Broadway’s “A Christmas Carol Musical” in December.

Auditions for “A Christmas Carol,” will take place Aug. 29 from 10 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. at the Capitol Theatre. Auditions are by appointment only. Those interested should email a headshot, resume and phone number to Dee at [email protected]

Actors, singers and dancers should bring a prepared song with sheet music 32 bars long on an MP3 or phone tract and expect cold readings from the script. They should also be prepared to stay and dance with Mundy.

The performances will take place Dec. 1,-3 and Dec. 8-10.
