A single-vehicle wreck near Mt. Juliet early Friday morning killed the driver and knocked out power for hundreds of residents.

State troopers said Tiffanie Leann Davis, 21, of Lebanon, was driving north on S. Posey Hill Road when the 2010 Nissan car she was driving failed to negotiate a curve at the intersection with Sullivan Bend Road. The car slid counterclockwise off the left side of the road, hit a power pole head on and overturned onto the driver’s side. The wreck happened at 5:36 a.m.

Davis wasn’t wearing a seat belt, and troopers said in the report it may have made a difference in the wreck.

Mt. Juliet police tweeted a message Friday morning the wreck caused about 350 Middle Tennessee Electric Membership Corp. customers to lose power in the Providence-Del Webb area. Workers restored power a short time later.
