Staff Reports • Updated Dec 6, 2016 at 6:00 PM

Historic Granville’s 2016 Christmas Parade will be Saturday at 2 p.m. as part of the 18th annual Granville Country Christmas.

The parade grand marshal will be Davis Nolan, WKRN Channel 2 weatherman.  Davis has forecasted weather in Middle Tennessee for more than 30 years. In 2005, he became one of the first in the nation to earn certified broadcast meteorologist designation.

Davis said he takes pride in the accuracy of his weather forecasts, especially during severe weathers where he has tracked storms on air for several hours on many occasions. Davis is active in Middle Tennessee communities and has a love for music, fishing and sailing. Davis did a recent live broadcast from Historic Granville on the Scarecrow Festival.

The Granville parade is unique, and this year’s theme will be 1930s Christmas with a special display of 1930s automobiles, floats, Shriner units and more.

Anyone interested in entering a float, automobiles, tractors, horses, etc. may call 931-653-4511.

Granville Country Christmas begins at 10 a.m. with a full day of musicals, children’s events, children rides, Santa’s workshop, Santa, food, shopping at unique shops and more. For more information, call 931-653-4151 or visit granvilletn.com.
