Mt. Juliet police officers charged a Mt. Juliet man Wednesday after a woman claimed he stole her vehicle from Overton County last week.

William Crowder, 42, of Mt. Juliet, was charged with theft of property.

According to a Mt. Juliet incident report, Officer Justin Crawford said he was called  to the Belinda Parkway and South Mt. Juliet Road intersection after a woman said she spotted her stolen vehicle.

Crawford said he drove on South Mt. Juliet Road until he turned onto Stewarts Ferry Pike where officers spotted Crowder in a gray Toyota Tacoma. He said officers arrested Crowder without incident once they stopped the vehicle.

The victim said Crowder took the vehicle Friday in Overton County, and he told her he would return the vehicle once he was able to find someone to pick him up from his location but never did, according to the report.
