Johnson finishes fourth in state senior championships

BRISTOL, Va. — Mt. Juliet’s Audie Johnson finished fourth in the Tennessee PGA Senior Professional Championships on Tuesday at The Virginian.

Johnson, a club pro at Nashville’s McCabe Course and a former pro at Lebanon Golf & Country Club, shot a second-round 65 to counter Monday’s even-par 72 to finish at 7-under 137, eight strokes behind winner Walt Chapman of Knoxville.

Johnson took the final qualifying spot for the 28th Senior Professional Championships on Nov. 17-20 at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Fla.
