Mt. Juliet’s Week 8 game at McGavock has been moved up a day to Thursday, Oct. 5, MJHS athletic director Mike Duncan confirmed Tuesday night.

The Golden Bears reported the change on its Twitter page.

Duncan said the move was finalized before lunch Thursday after McGavock officials made the request. Metro Nashville Schools will have fall break the following week. Wilson County Schools will enjoy a two-week break beginning next week. Both teams will have their open date the week after their matchup.

Mt. Juliet’s Twitter said the team would try to reschedule the freshman game with Lebanon set for Oct. 5.

The Bears will play host to Rossview at 7 p.m. this Friday in a matchup of the co-leaders in Region 4-6A.
