Child injured Tuesday morning Watertown wreck

A child was seriously injured in an accident on Sparta Pike in Watertown on Tuesday morning, according to reports from Wilson County Emergency Management Agency Director Joey Cooper. 

The child was taken to Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt by ambulance and was in stable condition. The full extent of the injury was unknown, Cooper said. 

Two other people had minor injuries, and they were taken to Tennova Healthcare-Lebanon by ambulance. One other person was taken to Tennova via car for precautionary measures.

The ages and names of those involved in the accident were not available, Cooper said.

The accident happened at about 7:10 a.m. at Sparta Pike and Neal Road. WEMA paramedics responded to the incident, which closed both lanes of Sparta Pike at times and was cleared in about an hour.
