The race will begin at 9 a.m.
Proceeds raised from the One:Twenty-Seven event will be given in support of giving hope to families in terms of adoption…specifically, Brian and Amy Robertson, of Lebanon.
Married eight years ago, the Robertsons are in the process of adding a child to their family through adoption. Their adoption expenses surpass $30,000 and include agency fees, placement and legal fees.
Through the One:Twenty-Seven 5K and Fun Run, the goal Oct. 28 is to raise $60,000. Half of the proceeds will go toward fully funding the Robertsons’ adoption. The remaining funds will be used to assist future men, women and families called to orphan care efforts.
“The family and friends of Brian and Amy Robertson want to encourage everyone in the community to attend our upcoming 5K in an effort to help raise funds for other families facing the overwhelming burden of adoption and foster care expenses,” said event chair Jessica Robinson.
Individuals can register to participate in the One:Twenty-Seven race online at collegehills.org/127. The registration fees are $35 for the 5K and $20 for the fun run, children and students. Individuals who pre-register by Oct. 15 will receive an official commemorative race T-shirt. Registered runners can pick up their race bib and packet information beginning at 7:30 a.m. on the morning of the race.
