Local woman organizes special needs prom

Caitlin Ring • Oct 2, 2017 at 3:11 PM

Ciera Cason and volunteers held the first Happily Ever After prom for special needs individuals Sep. 23 at the James E Ward Agricultural Center in Lebanon.

Life With Jaden, a family group, took part in giving back to special needs children and adults by holding events since 2013. This year was the first for the prom, with more planned.

Cason’s goal is to make sure no child or adult feels forgotten. They also plan to hold another event in December. A free special needs Christmas party will be Dec. 17 at 5 p.m. at Wild Turkey Ranch in Lebanon.

There will be free food, music and a visit from Santa Claus as a gift to the special needs children and adults of Wilson County. The event will also be promoted through Facebook on the Hip Lebanon page. It will be an RSVP-only event for 4-30 year olds with special needs.

To RSVP, call Cason at 615-775-5483
