Nashville light show eyes Wilson County

The Dancing Lights of Christmas display at Jellystone Park in Nashville is looking at Wilson County after it’s outgrown its facility.

A location currently under consideration is the James E. Ward Agricultural Center, the site of the Wilson County Fair.

The Nashville Metro City Council recently shut down the display due to concerns about traffic, but Ag Center director Larry Tomlinson said he doesn’t believe it will be a problem since the fair attracts about half a million visitors during two weeks each year.

“We’re used to handling big crowds,” said Tomlinson. “There wouldn’t be any problem at all.”

It’s not certain whether the display will come to Wilson County, but Tomlinson said he should know soon.

“The gentleman who puts the show on said he’d let me know by the end of this week,” said Tomlinson. “I’m sure he has other offers at different places, but we’d love to have it.”
