The former Providence Marketplace staple moved to the Lebanon Outlet Marketplace food court after 10 years in Mt. Juliet. NYNY Pizza replaced DiCiccio’s Pizza, which closed in late January, at the outlet mall.
NYNY Pizza’s lease in Providence expired in February after the restaurant closed for six months due to a fire. Owners said the company could not afford to renew its lease at Providence Marketplace and searched for months for another location in Mt. Juliet.
NYNY Pizza joined Marble Slab as longtime Providence Marketplace tenants that will no longer take up space in the shopping complex.
Marble Slab owners said last year Providence owners did not want to renew the business’ lease after 10 years.
“We are not sure why they want us out and have refused to give us any details,” said Carey Hook, former owner of the Providence location Marble Slab.
Providence Marketplace sold for $114.7 million in February. Ramco-Gershenson Properties Trust acquired the 830,000-square-foot shopping center.
Ramco-Gershenson officials said they believed the potential future growth in the area would “provide the catalyst to expand and densify the shopping center,” according to a release from the company.
NYNY Pizza is open Mondays through Saturdays from 11 a.m. until 8:30 p.m., and Sundays from 11 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. at the Lebanon Outlet Marketplace food court.
