Registration is now open for the second installment of a new Mt. Juliet Chamber of Commerce business education session aimed to help local business owners and entrepreneurs.

The Business Boost is the chamber’s bi-monthly series of informative and interactive small business education sessions led by some of the area’s top professionals.

The March 24 session will feature Jennifer Way, a national speaker, author and consultant on hiring top talent, career management and developing leadership. Way’s presentation, Smart Hiring for Small Businesses, will look to help local professionals make smart hiring decisions.

“Hiring is especially important for a small business. Every time you hire, you’re either hiring a future problem or a solution. As a small business owner or entrepreneur, you have to wear a lot of hats, but you can’t do it all on your own. The quality of the team you put together and their ability to work together will make or break your company,” Way said.

Way’s presentation will include discussion on exploring hiring options and how to select the best for the company; learning how culture can help business owners compete with bigger companies for top talent; and identifying the best ways to save time in the hiring process.

The event will feature breakfast and networking from 7:45-8 a.m., and the presentation will follow until 9:30 a.m.

Due to limited space, registration is required and includes breakfast. Registration is $15 for chamber members and $25 for non-members. Attendees should bring a smartphone, laptop or tablet.

Future programs include Liz Denning, with Gamma Blast Solutions, with the Irresistible Play Button: Why You Need Video in Your Marketing on May 26; Tim Shaver, with Tim Shaver & Associates and Sandler Training Nashville, with Time Management for Professionals on July 28; Courtenay Rogers, with Brand Wise/Girls to the Moon, with Speaking Geek: The Perfect Recipe to Prepare Your Company for a New Website on Sept. 22; and Katie Adkisson, of Reed Public Relations, with A Fresh Approach to Marketing for Small Businesses on Nov. 17.
