Men win twice, women fall in two matches at MSC Championships

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — Cumberland men’s bowling dropped its first match before winning twice and then losing again in the double-elimination tournament while the Phoenix women lost its first two matches on Saturday in the Mid-South Conference Championships.

Cumberland’s men lost 4-2 to Life in the opening round before rallying for a 4-2 victory over Lindsey Wilson and a 4-3 win versus Campbellsville. The Phoenix’s run through the Baker scoring format ended with a 4-1 loss to the University of the Cumberlands, who came through the loser’s bracket to win the event on Sunday.

Tennessee Wesleyan posted a 4-3 victory in eight games (game three ended in a tie) in the first round against the Cumberland women. CU then dropped a 4-2 decision to Bethel in the loser’s bracket.
