Preacher's Corner: Give thanks for blessings
Nov 6, 2015 at 6:00 PM
The joy of hearing our families voices as we awake early in the morning, the glimpse of sunshine peeking through the windows or the rain falling on the rooftops of our homes and having the use and activities of our limbs and being in our right frame of minds, should certainly touch the altars of our hearts to tell God thank you.
These blessing are priceless and too expensive for us to take for granted, especially as we realize so many others do not get to enjoy some of these blessings because of life’s circumstances.
Even though it’s true, it’s still a reason to thank God. We are graciously reminded in the Holy Bible, according to 2 Thessalonians 5:18, that in all circumstances we are to give thanks.
I’m a witness that saying thank you opens the door for so much more.
This is the season we should show our appreciation to God and others who help and has helped make a difference in our lives.
No one is an island to themselves, and we need each other on a daily basis. With all of the tragedies and hardships on the rise in our nation – Christians being martyred for their beliefs, laws being enforced against God’s will and then some – have caused a travesty in our world.
With that said, if we haven’t faced these things on a personal level in some shape form or fashion, then we have more of a reason to show our gratitude in every area of our lives.
Prayer is certainly in order for our brothers and sisters and neighbors around the world who are not as fortunate. May God continue to watch over us all and bless us indeed.
It’s time to walk in the spirit of Thanksgiving on a daily basis for all of our blessings and encourage others to do the same.
Are you thankful?
