The official address is 8995 Stewarts Ferry pike, Mt. Juliet, but don’t let that fool you. It is actually right in the heart of Gladeville. It is known for the “best pizza in middle Tennessee”. That claim is not an exaggeration. They also have a complete line of sandwiches. They are open seven days a week. They deliver in about a 12-mile radius of the shop. Picturesque outside dining is also available.
It is primarily a take out pizza place, however, romantic outside seating, with a panoramic view of beautiful, historic, downtown Gladeville is plentiful.
People travel great distances just to get Ziggy’s pizza. Last week I encountered a couple who came from near St. Louis, Mo. who had included Ziggy’s in their stops while on vacation. When I am out of town and mention that I’m from Gladeville, people will almost always say, “That’s where they have that world famous pizza isn’t it”? I always tell them that it the home of Charlie Daniels and Ziggy’s Pizza.
Like me, they both have a Mt.Juliet address, but they are actually from The Glade. We are proud to have them both.
For delivery of a world famous Ziggy’s Pizza, just call 615-449-8887. The hours are Monday through Thursday from 10:30 a.m.-8:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 10:30 a.m.-9 p.m. and Sunday 10:30 a.m.-8 p.m. You can visit their website at ziggyspizza.com.
The Wilson County Shrine Club will hold their annual Christmas party for the special needs children on the second Tuesday evening of December. This event is held in the Ward Center at the fairgrounds. The great effort of the Wilson County Shriners and volunteers keep this tradition growing. The children are so appreciative of everything they get.
They are provided a meal, which is donated by Sunset Restaurant in Lebanon. They get to be entertained by Melvin Sloan and some of his friends from the Grand Ole Opry. They get to meet Santa Clause and get a sack of candy to take with them. The candy is donated by local merchants and individuals. There is usually about 200 children at this party, and they have the time of their lives. You are encouraged to attend or donate to this cause if you so desire. You should feel free to contact me at [email protected], if you have any questions or would like to help.
