Kirkland garners NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors

Cumberland’s Garrett Kirkland was named a 2017 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete on Monday, as announced by the national office.

Student-athletes must be a junior or senior and carry a 3.50 grade-point-average and above to be eligible for the award.

The Carbon Hill, Ala., native holds a 3.75 GPA in special education and is set to graduate in May. A total of 62 players from around the country were honored by the NAIA.
