Devilettes drop decision to Shelbyville

Shelbyville sank eight three-pointers Tuesday night as the visiting Eaglettes kept scrappy Lebanon at bay in a 58-47 win at Campbell Brandon Gym/Hester Gibbs Court.

A.J. Mitchell fired in four three-pointers in leading the Eaglettes with17 points while Jenna Holt had 15 and Emmy Haynes 10 as each hit a pair of triples.

Shelbyville led 19-10 following the first quarter, 39-25 at halftime and 47-34 through three as the Devilettes, who fell behind 25-3 in a 54-32 loss at Shelbyville last month, dropped to 4-6.

Caleah Shannon led Lebanon, which started four freshmen, with nine points while Aaryn Grace Lester and Christaney Brookshire each added eight, Allissa Mulaski seven, Anne Marie Heidebreicht six, Maleigha Oldham a three and Zyrina Neuble and Keionna Britton two apiece.

Lebanon will travel to Stewarts Creek on Monday to face Shiloh, Ga., in the She Got Game Classic at 8:45 p.m. Friday.

Central reaches 10-0

SPRING HILL — Undefeated Wilson Central had no trouble reaching win No. 10 Tuesday night in an 84-27 triumph over Spring Hill.

The Lady Wildcats led 25-9 following the first quarter and 53-14 at halftime.

Addison Byrd led four Lady Wildcats in double figures with 18 points, including four of Central’s 15 made three-pointers and five steals. Bailey Kaposy also connected for four triples as she and freshman forward Lindsey Freeman each threw in 13 and point guard Piper Elrod 11, including three treys. Kathryn Bean notched nine points, Jasmin Angel five, Nathalie Ventura four, Anna Altman and Kaylee Richetto a three apiece, Dottie McSpadden and Nicole Brill two each and Taylor Tucker a free throw. Kenadhi Killebrew didn’t score but passed for seven assists.

Wilson Central is off until next Monday when the Lady Wildcats travel to play in the Rossview Tournament in Clarksville.

Tigerettes fall to Jackson County

WATERTOWN — Watertown dropped a 52-41 decision to Jackson County on Tuesday night.

The Lady Devils led 11-9 following the first quarter, 26-17 at halftime and 41-28 through three periods as the Tigerettes, coming off a 42-34 home loss to Eagleville last Saturday afternoon, slipped to 6-6.

Kaitlyn Pippin poured in 18 points, including a pair of three-pointers, for Jackson County. Kyleigh Hardy, the Lady Devils’ 6-foot-1 post, had 14.

Maria Allocco scored 17 from the Watertown backcourt while Emma Edwards added six, Mya Huddleston and McKenna George five each, Ashlea Dickens four and Claire Edwards and Macey Justice two each.

Watertown will travel to Disney World for the KSA Disney Tournament. The Tigerettes will open with local favorite Maynard Evans at 9:15 a.m. CST Monday.

Lady Saints edged by Madison Academy

MT. JULIET — Mt. Juliet Christian dropped a 26-21 decision to visiting Madison Academy on Monday night.

The teams were tied 6-6 following the first quarter before Madison moved in front 10-9 by halftime and 18-17 through three periods.

No one scored in double figures for either team. Caitlyn Smith, Marcella Gallione, Amelia Lyons and Caroline Hibbett each finished with four points for the Lady Saints while Abi Hildabrand had three and Destiny Moser two.

Mt. Juliet Christian will play host to Franklin Road Christian at 4 p.m. Friday as part of the MJCA Christmas Classic.
