Bad third quarter does in Saints

MT. JULIET — Mt. Juliet Christian’s boys were done in by a big third quarter from visiting Bell Buckle Webb as the Feet prevailed 59-47 Tuesday night.

The teams were tied 23-23 at halftime before Webb dominated the third period 24-12 to go up 47-35. The teams played evenly in the fourth, but the Saints fell to 0-4.

Keon Johnson poured in 27 points for Webb. Hayden Weeks connected on a pair of three-pointers on his way to 13 while Wes Watson scored 12.

Bailey Jones sank a pair of threes as he and Caylor Bates each fired in 14 for the Saints while Logan Anderson’s 10 also included a couple of triples. Darius Hylick had six, Jacob Hall two and Sam Ols a free throw.

Mt. Juliet Christian will travel to Madison Academy on Thursday night.

MJCA girls fall to Aaron

MT. JULIET — Aaron Academy’s girls got past Mt. Juliet Christian 34-28 Tuesday night.

The Royals led 19-18 after the third quarter before pulling away in the fourth. They were up 11-8 at halftime after being tied 4-4 following the first period.

Caitlyn Smith scored seven points and Marcella Gallione six for the Lady Saints while Amelia Lyons finished with five, Abi Hildabrand and Caroline Hibbett four each and Megan Blackwell two.
