Cumberland signs Hillsboro's Angeles-Solis

Cumberland cross country coach Jim Seckel announced the signing of Hillsboro High School product Carlos Angeles-Solis to scholarship papers this week for the 2017-18 academic year, becoming the fourth signee for the Phoenix for next season.

The Antioch native won the district championship in Metro Nashville Public Schools as a sophomore and placed second as a junior. He also won the MNPS City Championships as a junior and finished second in the city and district championships as a senior.

Angeles-Solis earned letters in swimming as a freshman and sophomore and three letters in soccer for the Burros as well. He is the son of Julio Cesar Angeles and Karina Cathey.

Angeles-Solis joins Titus Williams (Murfreesboro), Joel Barlow (Wilson Central) and Tim Vanjohnson Jr. (Powder Springs, Ga.) in this year’s recruiting class.
