Wilson County Invitational kind to MJ, tough on LHS
Area baseball teams competed in the Wilson County Invitational over the weekend. The Golden Bears of Mt. Juliet defeated Station Camp 9-3 in the championship Saturday and moved to 6-0 on the season.
Caleb Hill earned the win over Station Camp and Tyler Carr and Brett Schultz each homered in the contest. Schultz finished the game with three RBI.
Mt. Juliet scored victories over William Blunt (3-2), Upperman (8-3), McGavock (12-1) and Creekwood (9-3) en route to the championship game.
Ethan Gross had the game winning RBI in the win over William Blunt. Dustin Murphy earned a win over McGavock.
The Blue Devils of Lebanon defeated Smith County 8-1 Friday. Callen Harrell tossed seven innings to earn the victory and fanned 10. Garrett Fanchier and Daniel Harrison had two hits and two RBI each.
Lebanon suffered losses to Sycamore (7-3) and Rossview (6-5). The Devils open District 7-AAA play against Blackman at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
