Wildcats score first win over Smyrna

SMYRNA — Wilson Central posted its first-ever soccer win over Smyrna 1-0 Thursday.
First-year Wildcat Musa Kamarra scored the game's only goal in the first half off an assist from Jared Prall.
Goalie Jonathan Hansen posted the first District 9-AAA shutout of his career. He has yet to be scored on this season, preseason or regular season, for the undefeated Wildcats.
Central, coached by Brian Valkyrie, will travel to Murfreesboro to take on Riverdale on Tuesday.

Saints succumb to Metro Christian 2-1
MT. JULIET — Metro Christian overcame a halftime deficit to edge Mt. Juliet Christian 2-1 Friday night.
The Saints led 1-0 at halftime on a Steven Swords penalty kick 13:15 into the match.
"It was very evenly matched," Mt. Juliet Christian coach Lloyd Sharp said after his Saints slipped to 3-2-1. "It was a hard-fought game.
"The second half, they really poured it on us."
Metro Christian scored the tying goal on a corner kick. The visitors finished with 15 shots to the Saints' 10.
Justin Branim totaled 10 saves for the Saints, who will travel to Friendship Christian on Tuesday for a 5 p.m. District 8-A-AA match.
