Wildcats net shutout win

MURFREESBORO — Wilson Central's boys shut out Riverdale 7-0 Wednesday in their season opener at Middle Tennessee State.
Riverdale's girls prevailed 9-0.
Singles winners for the Wildcats were Tyler Pullen over Josh Miller 8-4, Darren Thacker over Kevin Krapf 8-0, Devin Crotzer over Arash Kashef 8-0, Andrew Cooper over Preston Petty 8-3 and Grant Owens over Jacob Richardson 8-1.
Thacker and Crotzer doubled up Miller and Krapf 8-4 and Pullen and Cooper beat Kashef and Petty 8-1 in doubles.
Singles winners for Riverdale's girls were Ashley Lewis over Amanda Ward 8-0, Jessie Hoaglin over Krissy Sullivan 8-0, Amy Trevathan over Casey Ford 8-5, Christina Kilburn over Brittany Farmer 8-3, Anne Guiler over Renae Boulogne 8-0 and Bethann Anthony over Stacy Coffee 8-1.
Doubles winners for the Lady Warriors were Lewis and Hoaglin over Farmer and Sullivan 8-0, Trevathan and Kilburn over Ford and Ward 8-3 and Guiler and Anthony over Boulogne and Amber Sevier 8-0.
