WC's McDaniel 4th through state semis

SMYRNA — Wilson Central senior Jere McDaniel finished fourth in the TSSAA State Bowling Championships boys semifinals Thursday.
McDaniel knocked down 1,619 pins, in the first two rounds, including 971 in the quarterfinal round, good for first place.
Classmate Ryan Cox rolled an 881 quarterfinal round, good for a sixth-place tie, and a 1,534 total through the semifinals, good for ninth place.
Mt. Juliet senior Scott Curran bowled a 710 quarterfinal series and MJ junior James Fleming a 697.
On the girls side, Central senior Traci Baker advanced to the semifinals with a 724 quarterfinal series while junior Brittany Farmer rolled a 668. Baker reached 1,280 through the semifinals.
Final round match play will be held today at Smyrna Lanes.
Also today, the team tournament begins. Wilson Central's boys (17-0) will face Bartlett (13-0) at 9 a.m. Mt. Juliet's boys (18-1) will meet William Blount (16-5) at 11:30 a.m.
