Mt. Juliet senior center moves past land donation

Mt. Juliet Senior Activity Center leaders continue to push forward after its deadline to raise $2.5 million for a land donation expired earlier this year.

Deborah Walter named SilverSneakers FInalist

Walter has instructed for 16 years. She started her career as a personal trainer and later went into teaching water exercise. She took her first SilverSneakers training in 2005 and started teaching group exercise for SilverSneakers, among other classes. She started teaching at the fitness center in Mt. Juliet 11 years ago when it opened as a new facility.

Mt. Juliet Senior Citizens Center regular Dot Burks said it took a little prodding, but she loves going to the center and visits it often. She is also a big fan of hugs and finds plenty of practice at the center.

Mt. Juliet Senior Activity Center plans its second reverse raffle

Only 300 tickets at $50 each will be sold for the raffle drawing party, which gives ticket holders a chance to win $5,000. Tickets include raffle drawing and one meal ticket. Additional meal tickets may be purchased for $10 each.
