Winfree Bryant baseball fundraiser Friday
A fundraiser night for Winfree Bryant Middle School baseball will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the Leeville Pike school. Chili, salad and dessert will be available for $10, with children 6-under eating free. A silent auction will run the entire evening with autographed items from David Price, the Nashville Predators, Wimp Sanderson and Vanderbilt, plus UT baseball game tickets. An Autograph session for kids will be held from 6-7 p.m. with several area colleges in attendance, including Cumberland, Middle Tennessee State, Trevecca, Lipscomb, Belmont and Vol State. Kids may either buy a baseball for $5 or bring their own merchandise to have signed.
Wilson United Soccer signings in February
Signups for the Wilson United Soccer League's spring season for recreational youth [ages 3-up] and adult players, as well as select players, will be held from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Feb. 2 and 9 at Byars Dowdy Elementary School, 906 Hickory Ridge Rd., Lebanon, and from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Feb. 9 at Dick's Sporting Goods in Mt. Monday Night Volleyball at Cumberland
Cumberland volleyball coach Dwayne Deering is accepting applications for the Monday Night Girls Volleyball League, which begins play March 18 and will continue each Monday night until April 22. There will be under-18 and under-14 divisions. Players and coaches are urged to enter their team as soon as possible, but individuals may also join and will be placed on a team. LGSA signups underway
The Lebanon Girls Softball Association is taking registrations for the 2013 season for players who were ages 4-14 as of Jan. 1. Registrations may be completed online at www.lebanongirlssoftball.com. Lebanon High baseball field dedication March 9
Dedication ceremonies for Lebanon High's new Brent Foster Field will be held at noon March 9 when the Blue Devils take on Murfreesboro Central Magnet. Anyone who ever played or coached baseball for the Blue Devils is invited to participate. A $100 donation to the baseball program includes an 11 a.m. pregame meal, a throwback Blue Devil baseball cap, a 2013 season pass, the opportunity to take the field in your old position for former coach Brent Foster's ceremonial first pitch, tours of the locker room and hitting facility and postgame activities. NFL Youth Football Camp at MJHS June 3-6
Registration is now open for the Mt. Juliet High School NFL Youth Football Camp for grades 3-8 which will be held from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. June 3-6 at the school. Former NFL players, including Kelly Holcomb and Kevin Dyson, will join former college players and the Golden Bear coaching staff as instructors. Participants will receive two t-shirts [one to wear at camp and the other to have autographed] and have photos made with the NFL players. Snacks and drinks will be provided.
