BREAKING NEWS: Wilson man fatally hit by vehicle

A Mt. Juliet man was struck and killed by a vehicle Tuesday night while walking his bike across a street in Murfreesboro.

According to Murfreesboro police spokesman Kyle Evans, Timothy Martin, 20, tried to cross the 1300 block of North Rutherford Road around 8:20 p.m. when he was struck by a vehicle driven by Murfreesboro resident Benjamin Conley, 22. Conley was traveling south.

Rutherford County paramedics took Martin to Middle Tennessee Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, according to Evans.

The incident is under investigation, but charges are not expected against Conley, police said.
