Mary June Baker
Services for Mrs. Baker will be 1 p.m. Friday, July 27, at Partlow Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Kevin Medlin officiating. Interment in Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. Thursday, July 26 and 11 a.m. until the service on Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Baker, 81, died Tuesday, July 24, 2012. She was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church and a retired employee of University Medical Center.
She was preceded in death by: parents; husband, Charles Baker; five sisters; and two brothers.
Survivors include: son, Ron (Terri) Baker; daughter, Charlotte (Tommy) Phillips; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Baines, Glenn Whitefield, James Ray Gregory, Bubba Phillips, Dee Lineberger and Anthony Maxwell.
Melinda Sue Brown
Services for Mrs. Brown will be 11 a.m. Thursday, July 26, at Sellars Funeral Home in Lebanon with Bro. Jon Shoulders officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 25 and 10 a.m. until the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Brown, 71, died Monday, July 23, 2012 at her home in Lebanon after an extended illness. She was born in Drift, Ky.
She was preceded in death by: parents, James Oscar Robinson of Ky. and Ruth Mae Judd Risell of Pa.; sister, Doris Childers of Fla; and brother, Butch Risell of Pa.
Survivors include: husband, Robert 'Bob' Brown; children, Randy (Diane) Brown and Patti (Jeff) Callis, all of Lebanon; siblings, Irene (Lynn) Wilson, Marie (Lewis) Wolfe and Lester (Betsy) Risell, all of Pa.; grandchildren, Christina (Drew Jackson) Brown, Hunter Brown, Corey Callis and Bethany (Jordan) Callis Vanatta, all of Lebanon; and great-grandchildren, Emily Cox, Brody Brown and Colton Vanatta, all of Lebanon.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Neal Oakley, Walter Vanatta Sr., Jim Harris, Hunter Brown, Corey Callis, Jordan Vanatta, Drew Jackson, Lewis Wolfe, Larry Whitlock, Robert Ferguson, Jim Childers Jr. and Kip Childers.
The family extends special thanks to the staff at Odyssey Hospice.
Gary Lee Ethridge
Services for Mr. Ethridge will be 10 a.m. Thursday July 26, at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home. Interment in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 25 and 9 a.m. until the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Ethridge, 75, of Lebanon, died Monday, July 24, 2012 at Summit Medical Center. He was born in Sept. of 1936 in Wilson Co. to the late Walter and Vera Mae Snider Ethridge. He was a member of the Smith Fork Baptist Church in Statesville. He owned and operated Mt. Juliet Motors for many years before retiring.
Survivors include: wife of 33 years, Sandra Hardin Ethridge; daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia Ann (Brett) Scott and Pamela (Robert) Purcell; grandchildren, Cassie and Caroline Scott and Daniel and Rebecca Purcell; and brother, Wendell (Faye) Ethridge of Old Hickory.
George W. 'Al' Etheridge
Services for Mr. Etheridge will be 10 a.m. Thursday, July 26 at Bond Memorial Chapel in Mt. Juliet with Bro. Russ Stephens officiating. Interment in Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 25 at the funeral home.
Mr. Etheridge, 93, died Monday, July 23, 2012. He was a charter member of Silver Springs Baptist Church and a retiree of the Metro Fire Department. He was the son of the late George Washington and Lizzie Pace Lewis Etheridge.
He was preceded in death by: parents; wife, Christine Bradley Etheridge; son, Donald (Martha) Etheridge; two brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors include: wife, Helen Gray Etheridge; sons, George Wayne, Paul and Ken (Sandra) Etheridge; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Eldon Horner, Omer Mayo, Clarence Dickens, George Davis, Bo Reed, Jimmy Hudson, Kevin Etheridge and Sammy Etheridge. Honorary Pallbearers will be Joe Petty, Tommy Poole, James Page, Wesley Hudson, James Wright, Billy Brown, John Dixon, Tommy Ramsey, Elza Smith, Larry Capps, William Bender, Gail Ellis, Barry Graves, Charles Johnson, Travis Johnson and the Silver Springs Senior Men’s Sunday school Class.
Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to the Building Fund at Silver Springs Baptist Church, 9938 Lebanon Road, Mt. Juliet, TN 37122.
Frances Irene Smith
Mrs. Smith will be cremated. Visitation will be at Sellars Funeral Home in Lebanon 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 25.
Mrs. Smith, 58, died Monday, July 23, 2012.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Barbara Linder.
Survivors include: husband, Larry Smith; children, Jackie Davis and Edwin (Michelle) Smith; grandchildren, Chelsea, Logan and Haleigh Smith and Dustin Davis; and several nieces and nephews.
Laura Ann Tapley-Cason
Services for Ms. Tapley-Cason will be 1 pm. Friday, July 27, at Pickett-Rucker United Methodist Church with the Rev. Roland Scruggs and Pastor Robert Jordan officiating. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery in Lebanon. Visitation will be noon until the service on Friday at the church.
Ms. Tapley-Cason, 85, died Saturday, July 21, 2012, at her home.
Survivors include: children, Emma Stafford of Lebanon, Ann (Russell) Irvin of Mt. Juliet, Betty (James) Cantrell of Lebanon, Gail Tapley of Nashville, William (Teresa) Tapley, Linda Sue (Brian) Tapley-Barber, both of Lebanon and Janice Tapley of Watertown; grandchildren, Kimberly (Montes) Abston of Lebanon, Latisha Tapley, Sharon (Tyshan) Bradshaw of Dallas, Texas, Melissa Irvin of Cookeville, Shemeka Cantrell of Lebanon, Monique Jobe of Dallas, Texas, Thomas Edward Tapley and Monica Tapley of Lebanon, Ellyott Tapley of Orlando, Fla., Laura McDowell of Lebanon and Taura McDowell of Cookeville; great-grandchildren, Keshawn and Jaylen Abston, Camron Woods, Deion Lewis, Ava and Addison Bradshaw and Jenesha and Antonio Huddleston; daughter-in-law, Lisa Tapley of Lebanon; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Bill 'Booger' Thorne
Graveside Services for Mr. Thorne will be 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, in Defeated Creek Memorial Gardens in Carthage with Roger Swanson of the Carthage Jehovah Witness Church at Tanglewood officiating.
Mr. Thorne, 68, of the Difficult Community in Smith Co., died Monday, July 23, 2012 at the home of his son Troy, following a long battle with cancer. He was born as William Harvey Thorne in Lebanon to the late Robert Clayton and Susie Batey Thorne. He graduated from Lebanon High School. He retired in 2008 as a mechanic for the Conrad Construction Co. in Lebanon.
Survivors include: wife of 40 years, Linda Lou Denney Thorne of Lebanon; children, Tim Thorne of Lebanon, Michael (Renee) Thorne of Lebanon, Troy (Kimberly) Thorne of South Carthage; sister, Frances (Ruben) McCoin of Caruthersville, Mo.; brother, Robert (Sylvia) Thorne of Lebanon; grandchildren, Clayton and Easton Thorne, Krista Bumbalough, Jackie Campbell, Leanne Harris and Daniel Shehane; and great-grandchildren. Kayden, Maleah and Madelyn.
