Funeral services for Mr. Green are scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon March 2 from the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home and burial will follow in the Defeated Creek Memorial Gardens. Bro. Jeff Burton and Bro. Doug Dickerson will officiate. The Green family will receive friends at Sanderson in Carthage on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the 3 p.m. services.
Mr. Green, 84, of the McClures Bend community at Defeated Creek died at 2:50 p.m. Wednesday afternoon Feb. 27, 2013, one day after his 63 wedding anniversary, at the Centennial Medical Center from intestinal complications.
One of two sons of the late Leslie Cavit “Lec” Green and Evie Myrtle Martin Green, he was born Jewell Edward Green in the Brooks Bend community of Jackson County on July 11, 1928. He was united in marriage on Feb. 26, 1950 at the Cornwells Chapel Missionary Baptist Church to Defeated Creek community native Mildred Jo Kennedy by the pastor Eld. Edgar Brown. Mr. Green was a life long farmer and was a member of the former Parthenia United Methodist Church in McClures Bend.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 63 years is their only child, Sandra Green Duke and husband James of Hiwassie; brother, Frank Green of Lebanon; two grandchildren, Vonda Hackett and husband Michael of Hackett Valley community and their children Criston and Isaiah , Bro. Jamey Duke pastor of the Refuge Church in Carthage and his wife Brenda Shumake Duke of Hiwassie and their children Cannan and Cayden.
Jimmy Howard Jenkins
Visitation for Mr. Jenkins will be held on Saturday, March 2 from 9 a.m. until funeral service at 11 a.m. in the Partlow Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at 1 p.m. in the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Goodlettsville.
Mr. Jenkins, 67, of Lebanon, passed away Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013 at University Medical Center. Mr. Jenkins was a retired salesman and a member of College Hills Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by parents, Theodore and Gladys Jenkins; wife, Virginia Ann Jenkins; half sister, Virginia Flowers and half brother, Joe Jenkins.
He is survived by daughter, Cherie (Billy) Ham; grandsons, Brad and Matthew Ham; half brothers, Robert (Mildred) Nabors, L.B. Nabors, and Gene (Doris) Nabors; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family will serve as pallbearers.
Estelle Crismon Moon
A funeral service for Mrs. Moon will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 2 at the Hermitage Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in the Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Moon, 72, of Mt. Juliet, passed away Feb. 27, 2013.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Frank Moon.
She is survived by her children, Kevin Taylor (Kelley), Kim Taylor (Andrew Westphal), Ernie Moon (Rita), Angel (Micki) Ramey (Derek) and Patty Tolleson (Danny); grandchildren, Jessica, Kristin, Amber, Kyle, Lucas, Alyssa, Theresa, Jacob, Laura and Breanna.

Jerald Ralph Terry
A memorial service for Mr. Terry was held on Thursday, Feb. 28 at 6 p.m. with a visitation following the service until 8 p.m. at Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 8 Racetrack Road, N.E. Fort Walton Beach, Fla.
Mr. Terry, born July 8, 1938 in Tallahassee, Fla., passed away Feb. 24, 2013 in Mary Esther, Fla., where he resided for the past 35 years. He was watching the Daytona 500 on TV from his bed, surrounded by his family at the time of his passing. Jerry was a graduate of Castle Heights Military Academy in Lebanon where he met the love of his life Brenda. He served in the U.S. Navy
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Brenda Jo (Crawford) Terry; children, Joe Allen (Melanie) Terry of Colorado and Bobby Jay Harvey of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.; grandchildren, Dustin Harvey and Dylan Harvey of Mary Esther, April (Scooter) Harrell, Nicole Cutter, Kimberly Cutter and C.J. Cutter, all of Lebanon; great-grandchildren, Taylor Harrell, Kadence Payne, Memphis Harvey and Shelby Harvey; numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eloise and Ralph Terry; children, Jimmy Ralph Terry, Bonnie Lynn Cutter and Bill Terry.
Funeral services for Mr. Whited are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, March 4 at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Wilson officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday 1-6 p.m. and Monday after 9 a.m. at Ligon & Bobo.
Mr. Whited, 80, of Lebanon, passed away Friday, March 1, 2013, at University Medical Center. Born July 18, 1932, in Wilson County, he was the son of the late John Leslie Whited Sr. and Inez Hughey Whited. He served in the United States Air Force for 26 years. After retiring from the military he worked at Johnson’s Retirement Home. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, J. L. Whited Jr, Melvin Whited, and Kenneth Whited.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Glenda Hull Whited; two children, Terry (Sharon) Whited and Rhonda (Ray) Calhoun; brother, Eugene (Betty) Whited; and three sisters, Dorothy Hesson, Ruby Davis, and Catherine (Marshall) Comer.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
