Mt. Juliet woman dies in fatal crash
A Mt. Juliet woman died Sunday in a fatal crash on Interstate 40.
According to Lebanon police Chief Scott Bowen, speed and alcohol likely contributed to the single-vehicle crash, which happened at about 3 a.m. near mile marker 235 in the westbound lane of I-40.
Megan Carter, 26, of Mt. Juliet died at the scene after she was thrown from the 2011 BMW. Police said she was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The driver and another passenger were treated at the scene and released. Police did not release either of their names.
