MJCA's Wilson named first-team All-Region

From staff reports

Mt. Juliet Christian junior running back/defensive back Noah Wilson was named to the East-Middle Region All-Region first team.

"I am so proud of Noah and what all he has done to place himself in this esteemed position," Mt. Juliet Christian coach Jake Roberts said. "He has worked tremendously hard, and we are more than happy to have him represent us on this stage.

"He kept us in several games and really made some spectacular plays that only he could make. He has such a strong work ethic and is character driven. He is a true testament that hard work and strong character always pay off."

Junior fullback/linebacker Elliott Lee made the second team.

"Without Elliott, our offense and defense just wouldn't work," Roberts said. "Whenever we needed a first down, I always knew to give it to Elliott. He is one of the toughest, hard-working and determined athletes that I have ever coached. I'm just glad he's on our team. I wouldn't ever want to send one of our running backs one on one with him filling the hole."

Tight end/defensive end Zack Jones, center/linebacker Gilbert Russ and free safety/running back/wide receiver Andy Pitman - all juniors - picked up honorable mention honors.

"Each of these young men does everything the right way, and that makes the future of our program brighter than ever," said Roberts, whose Saints went 2-8 in his first season. "With our new locker room and indoor facilities, this group of upcoming seniors are dedicated to a cause that is greater than themselves, and that is to bring respect to MJCA football."

De Ewin, who played at West Wilson Middle School, represented Donelson Christian on the first team.
