Gas prices fall below $3
A rare sight greeted Lebanon drivers Thursday – “$2…” on gas station signs.
Kroger at 1418 W. Main Street and Kangaroo BP at 1309 W. Main Street offered regular unleaded for $2.96 per gallon Thursday and Friday.
Mort Goldberg, who monitors Lebanon gas prices, said it was the first time that gas prices dipped below $3 since July 12.
“Then it was just a brief dip and right back up again,” said Goldberg. “If you waited at all, you missed it.”
Lebanon’s prices are well below the national average price of $3.402 for regular unleaded as well as the state average of $3.173, according to AAA.
