Five 'Cats named to Dream Team

Central to face Bearden in State Meet

Five Wilson Central wrestlers were named to the Middle Tennessee Dream Team by Middle Tennessee coaches.

Named to the overall Dream Team, which covers all divisions and classes were Central junior Austin Richard at 138 pounds and sophomore John Kramer at 220.

Teams were also named for each class, with three Wildcats chosen to the Division I large division – senior Nick Insalaco at 120 pounds, junior Eddie Small at 132 and senior Jacob Myers at 170.

Wilson Central will face Bearden at 5:30 p.m. Friday in the State Dual Tournament at the Williamson County Expo Center in Franklin.

The winner will come back at 7:30 that night to face the Beech-Ravenwood winner. That victor will come back for the semifinals at 1 p.m. Saturday against Science Hill, Soddy-Daisy, Collierville or Maryville.

The finals are set for 7 p.m. Saturday with Cleveland, Cordova, Clarksville, Dobyns Bennett, Heritage, Blackman, Knoxville Halls and Independence coming from the other bracket.

Teams that lose will drop into the consolation bracket with a shot at finishing third or fourth.
