Fire consumes Lebanon church

A Lebanon church caught fire and burned Saturday night.

Police Chief Scott Bowen said the call came into dispatch about 10:50 p.m. reporting heavy smoke coming from the back of Lebanon Church of God at 600 Manier Street.

He said officers were the first to arrive on the scene minutes later, followed closely by firefighters and Wilson Emergency Management Agency paramedics who kept an ambulance on the scene while firefighters fought the blaze for about two hours.

No one was injured.

All that remained of the church were some outside walls Sunday morning.
