Bulldogs bang out 22 hits in 14-10 victory

Cumberland beats No. 20 Georgetown in conference opener

Daniel Harrison went 5-for-5 with three RBIs and Chris Hall added four hits, as Cumberland collected 22 hits and scored in seven innings in a 14-10 victory over No. 20 Georgetown College in the Mid-South Conference opener for both teams on Friday at Ernest L. Stockton Field-Woody Hunt Stadium.

The Bulldogs (7-3-1, 1-0 Mid-South) and Tigers (7-7, 0-1) conclude the series with a doubleheader today starting at noon.

Cumberland scored eight runs in the first two innings, but Georgetown responded with five runs in the third and two more in the fifth, highlighted by a pair of home runs by Jordan Hinshaw.

The Bulldogs added single runs in the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh innings and scored twice more in the eighth, roughing up four GC hurlers. CU stranded 13 base runners in the game, including leaving the bags full in the second and seventh innings and two runners in the fifth and sixth.
