Bulldog wrestling remains 17th in NAIA Coaches' Poll

Cumberland is ranked 17th in the latest edition of the NAIA Wrestling Coaches' Top 20 Poll and four Bulldogs – Jake Williams, Steven Sandefer, Zeke Hunt and Cody Linton – are all ranked individual in their weight class, as announced this week by the national office.

The Bulldogs (5-9) have battled a host of injuries this fall and the squad has just one loss to NAIA competition with three versus NCAA Division I opponents and four against Division II foes. Williams, a redshirt sophomore from Rio Rancho, N.M., has compiled an 11-5 mark and is ranked sixth at 141. Hunt, a junior from Dacula, Ga., is 16-7 overall at 174 and rated 11th.

Sandefer and Linton have both missed the last month of competition with injuries. Sandefer, a redshirt junior from Mishawaka, Ind., is ranked eighth at 149 and has posted a 5-4 this season while Linton, a sophomore from Winters, Calif., is rated 11th nationally at 184 and registered a 6-3 mark overall.

Cumberland will wrestle again Jan. 12 at the Lone Star Duals in Grand Prairie, Texas.
