UPDATE II: Schools cancel Friday classes
Wilson County schools officials have canceled classes for Friday due to hazardous road conditions, according to Director of Schools Mike Davis.
Davis said students will not report Friday morning, however, the Central Office wil be open normal business hours, and childcare will be open and available.
Lebanon Special Schools District and Friendship Christian School officials said classes are also canceled for Friday, though an eighth-grade retreat remains scheduled at Friendship. Lebanon schools will have daycare open.Trousdale County schools will also be closed Friday.
McClain Christian Academy and Mt. Juliet Christian Academy also canceled classes Friday.
According to information released Friday morning at about 5 from the Wilson County Emergency Management Agency, ice was reported on most bridges and many backroads in WIlson County. WEMA officials urged motorists to drive safely and not be driving unless it was an emergency situation.
A National Weather Service winter weather advisory, issued Thursday morning, remains in effect until Friday at noon.
