BREAKING NEWS: Watertown takes region
WATERTOWN — Watertown's boys won its first region basketball championship in the 102-year history of the school Thursday night with a 51-35 victory over Clarkrange.
The Region 4-A champion Purple Tigers are 29-3 and will be home Monday night for a 7 p.m. sectional against Grace Baptist. A Watertown win will put it in the State Tournament for the first time.
Elsewhere, Wilson Central lost in the Region 5-AAA final for the second straight season, falling to Dickson County 45-38 at Beech.
The Wildcats [24-9] will go to Brentwood on Monday night where they won a sectional last year to advance to the State.
