Nashville men arrested on obscenity charges
Three Nashville men have been arrested on charges of producing obscene material inside Lebanon's Don Fox Community Park for "portraying sexual acts" on camera while children were present.
Arrest warrants state none of the three were unclothed but said two were "performing obscene acts" while being filmed by the third suspect. None of the warrants allege that sex acts took place in the park, indicating instead the two suspects being filmed were simulating a specific sexual activity.
Authorities had little to say Wednesday when contacted about the incident, which occurred Sunday.
"We had some citizen complaints that led one of our public safety officers to arrest the individuals and seize a camera and some other evidence," Public Safety Commissioner Billy Weeks said late Wednesday.
Among the evidence confiscated was what Weeks described as "a script" but he would not discuss its contents, declining to comment when asked if investigators believe the men were filming a pornographic movie.
"We're not saying that's what it is and we're not saying that's not what it is," he said. "We're just not going to comment on it either way right now, because it's still under investigation."
The suspects were identified as Jeremy Edward Miller of Apt. 511 Grand Avenue, Nashville; and Adam Richard Carlson and David Thomas Alcorn, both of 139 N. Timber Drive in Nashville. All three were released under $10,000 bond each after being charged with one count each of producing obscene material.
According to the warrants, Miller and Carlson simulated sexual acts while Alcorn filmed them "in the fenced in play area of the park where the children commonly play."
According to the warrants "several children" witnessed the filming, one of whom told an adult who in turn contacted police.
"Officers arrived and found the subjects … It was found that the subjects were not nude; they were however portraying sexual acts in the presence of children on the playground," each of the three arrest warrants state.
All three are to appear for preliminary hearings June 7 before Wilson County General Sessions Judge Robert Hamilton.
