MJ's Helton gets 1,000th point for Trevecca
Former Mt. Juliet High star Josh Helton broke the 1,000-college career point mark for Trevecca in the Trojans' 63-61 home loss to Cumberland on Monday.
The junior is the 32nd Trojan to reach the milestone, which took him just 83 games. He is averaging 16.8 points per game this season and is shooting 42.5 percent from three-point range.
He is the fourth Mt. Juliet graduate to score over 1,000 for Trevecca. Current MJHS assistant principal/athletic director Tim Bell totaled 2,057 points. David Blanford bucketed 1,762 and Darryl Keckler 1,235.
