LHS twice shuts out MTCS 7-0

Lebanon posted a pair of 7-0 shutouts of visiting Middle Tennessee Christian on Friday at Cumberland.
Singles winners for the Devilettes were Chelsea Fyke over Aisha Harris 8-0, sister Courtney Fyke over Katie Kahler 8-1, Sarah Morgan over Hailey Waldron 8-2, Kacey Conatser over Sarah Hardison 8-0 and Samantha McElfresh over Brooke Miller 8-1.
Doubles winners were the Fyke sisters over Hargis and Kahler 8-2 and Morgan and Conatser over Waldron and Miller 8-1.
In the boys' match, singles winners were Jonathan Do over Dillon Wade 8-2, Ben Fennell over Stewart Welter 8-3, Andrew Puryear over Zach Gibbs 8-3, Peter Misaiphon over John Mankin 8-2 and Patrick Jones over Ben Hall 9-7.
Doubles winners were Do and Fennell over Wade and Welter 8-2 and Puryear and Jones over Gibbs and Mankin 8-1.
Lebanon will travel to Mt. Juliet's Charlie Daniels Park on Monday for a 3:30 p.m. set with the Bears and Lady Bears.

Saints' doubles overtake Greenbrier
MT. JULIET — Mt. Juliet Christian's boys needed, and got, a doubles sweep to dust off visiting Greenbrier 4-3 Friday at Charlie Daniels Park.
The Lady Saints soared to an 8-1 triumph.
Trailing 3-2 entering the doubles, the Saints got wins from Josh McKenzie and Andrew Ziady over Brandon Langley and Chris Borns 8-3 and Caleb Wagler and Ben Brescka over Michael Updike and Mitchell Cothron 8-6.
In singles, McKenzie beat Langley 8-5 and Ziady outscored Burns 8-6.
Greenbrier's winners were Updike over Wagler 8-2, Chris Luckey over Sam Anderson 9-7 and Cothron over Brescka 9-7.
Singles winners for the Lady Saints were Crystal Harwell over Chloe Morris 8-3, Kate Walker over Taffy O'Neal 8-6, Cindy Overstreet over Gracie Fuqua 9-8 [7-5 in the tiebreaker], Chelsea Mobley over Carmen Melzer 8-4 and Hannah Jordan over McKenzie Price 8-4.
Doubles winners were Harwell and Overstreet over Morris and Fuqua 8-2, Walker and Mobley over O'Neal and Melzer 8-3 and Jordan and Betsy Harris over Megan Vick and Ashley Fuqua 9-7.
Greenbrier's only win came from Vick over Harris 8-3.
Mt. Juliet Christian will host Friendship Christian at 3:30 p.m. Monday at Old Hickory Country Club.
