Lady Bulldogs drop to 13th in NAIA poll
Cumberland slipped two spots to No. 13 in the latest NAIA women's basketball ratings released Wednesday.
The Lady Bulldogs are one notch above TranSouth Conference-rival Freed-Hardeman, which held firm at No. 14.
Trevecca, which rose a spot to No. 8, routed Cumberland 84-57 Monday night to improve to 20-4 while the Lady Bulldogs dropped to 19-6. But that game came after this week's votes were in.
Also in the TSC, two-time national champion Union climbed a spot to No. 5 and Lambuth rose three spots to No. 22.
Cumberland will play its final two home games of the regular season tonight and Saturday. Mid-Continent visits the Dallas Floyd Center for a 6 p.m. double header tonight before Martin Methodist comes in for Senior Day at 2 p.m. Saturday.
CU's Women's Council for Leadership and Philanthropy are inviting local women to attend Saturday's games. Special seating and free admission are available to those who RSVP with Amber Sanders at asanders@cumberland.edu or 547-1241.
