Gordonsville pulls away from MJCA in 2nd half
MT. JULIET — Gordonsville dominated Mt. Juliet Christian in almost all phases of the game in a 50-20 triumph Monday night.
The Tigerettes widened an 11-6 first-quarter lead to 23-6 by halftime as they improved to a District 8-A-leading 8-1.
Forward Jana Watson tossed in 10 points for the Tigerettes, who shot 19-of-41 from two-point range and 4-of-20 from three.
The Tigerettes used their quickness on defense to force numerous turnovers. They also dominated the glass 40-27 as the Lady Saints slipped to 12-11 overall and 3-7 in the district.
Christine Humes and Anna Haley scored six points apiece for Mt. Juliet Christian while Paige Hudson, Cali Beard and Ashley Hudson each tossed in two and Kristen Tewmey and Lauren Bean a free throw each.
Mt. Juliet Christian will return to the district road tonight with a trip to Trousdale County with tipoff set for 6 p.m.
